One of the Arizona Cardinals’ most prominent free agents who is scheduled to hit the open market next week is wide receiver Christian Kirk, provided he and the team do not agree to a new deal before then.
It appears he is expecting to test the market.
Approached by a reporter from TMZ Sports recently, he said, “I kind of have an open mind with it.
“I just want to land in the best place I can be. Whether that’s in Arizona or somewhere else, man, I’m blessed to be in this position.”
It was recently reported that he could command a contract in the $12 million per year range. That would make it tough for him to return to Arizona, especially with the belief that second-year pro Rondale Moore can emerge as a slot receiver.
He had his most productive season in four seasons in 2021, catching 77 passes for 982 yards, leading the Cardinals in both categories. He also scored five touchdowns.
