Christian Eriksen believes Casemiro's calmness and control are key assets to the Manchester United midfield ahead of the Brazilian's much-anticipated return to the team.
The Dane returned after a three-month injury lay off against Everton at Old Trafford last weekend, featuring as a second-half substitute during the 2-0 win. Casemiro is set to make his own return to domestic action at Nottingham Forest on Sunday while both could feature against Sevilla in this week's Europa League quarter-final first leg.
Eriksen, 31, hailed the influence the former Real Madrid man has had on the United squad, but insists he brings far more than big-game experience and trophies.

"In football terms, he brings a bit of calmness, a bit of movement of the ball on the pitch and a bit of awareness in the middle. A bit of control to the game," said Eriksen, speaking in the latest episode of UTD Podcast. "Casemiro came in with his big trophy cabinet, the experience and the bad English! He's a lovely guy, and, at the same time, he's a winner, and he's a lovely player."
Eriksen returns with United chasing glory in the FA Cup and Europa League having already lifted the Carabao Cup. Erik ten Hag's side will also be aiming to secure a top four finish in the Premier League. And the former Brentford man is pleased to have plenty to fight for as he eyes a first start since January.
“I said to the guys, to my teammates, just keep winning games so there are more games for me when I come back,” he said. “It’s also been part of the mindset - the more games they win, the more cups they continue in, the more games and possibilities of playing a final I will have. For me, this is a good time to come back, to be ready for the last push.”
