Christian Eriksen in fairytale Denmark return as he scores with his FIRST TOUCH after Euro 2020 horror

Christian Eriksen scored with his first touch after returning to the Denmark side after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.

The Brentford midfielder has not represented his country since that fateful day in June where he collapsed on the pitch during a group stage clash with Finland.

There were fears the 30-year-old would never take to the pitch again after he was revived by medics while the world watched on in horror.

But after leaving Inter he joined the Premier League side in January having been fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, a device which can reset the heart following a cardiac arrest.

And while returning to the pitch for Denmark was emotional enough, the attacking midfielder smashed home with his first involvement in a friendly against the Netherlands.

With his side trailing 3-1, former Tottenham favourite Eriksen emerged from the bench to meet an Andreas Skov Olsen cutback and whip a trademark finish into the top corner to reduce the Dutch lead to just one goal.
