Chrissy Teigen announces pregnancy two years after miscarriage

Chrissy Teigen has announced she is expecting a 'miracle' baby with husband John Legend. The American model, 36, announced the news on Instagram on Wednesday (August 4), which comes two years after she sadly suffered a miscarriage.

Chrissy shared two photos of her blossoming baby bump as she described the 'joy' that has been blessed on the family after their heartache. Speaking about her fertility and pregnancy journey so far, she wrote: "The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again.

"1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way. Every appointment I’ve said to myself, “ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce” but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still.

"I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful and I’m feeling hopeful and amazing. Ok phew it’s been very hard keeping this in for so long!"

The TV personality revealed that she had completed IVF treatment in March. Friends and fans were quick to offer their congratulations. Actress Kate Hudson penned: "Beautiful news" alongside a red heart emoji and Queer Eye star Tan France said: "Yay!! I’m so, so happy for you guys, love" also with a red heart emoji.

The couple share two children together — Luna, five, and Miles, three. In September 2020, they tragically lost their third child, a baby boy they had named Jack, 20 weeks into the pregnancy.

Chrissy had been taken to hospital with excessive bleeding during her pregnancy and later shared the devastating news she had suffered a miscarriage, writing in a statement on social media: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

She added: “We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.

“To our Jack – I’m so sorry that the first few moments of your life were met with so many complications, that we couldn’t give you the home you needed to survive. We will always love you.”

Chrissy thanked everyone for their “positive energy, thoughts and prayers” and said her family will now spend time grieving. She said: “We are so grateful for the life we have, for our wonderful babies Luna and Miles, for all the amazing things we’ve been able to experience. But everyday can’t be full of sunshine. On this darkest of days, we will grieve, we will cry our eyes out. But we will hug and love each other harder and get through it.”

And shortly she after tweeted: "Driving home from the hospital with no baby. How can this be real." Chrissy and John, 43, have spoken publicly about their fertility issues and Jack was their first baby conceived without IVF.
