Chris Wilder is still interested in the Hearts job – despite claims he was hell-bent on staying in England.
The 55-year-old is on the lookout for a new post having left his position at Watford. Wilder was in charge at Vicarage Road from March after signing a short-term agreement until the end of the season having previously been at Middlesbrough. The ex-Sheffield United gaffer has confessed publicly he still has aspirations to work in the highest echelons of English football.
But, with Hearts yet to decide on a long-term replacement for Robbie Neilson, Record Sport understands the Tynecastle job represents an attractive option for Wilder. It had been reported manager was intent on staying down south but he has closed no doors on a potential switch to the capital Interim-manager Steven Naismith has been in place for seven weeks after the departure of the former boss and talks are planned with him, but Hearts will have a variety of options with the Englishman amongst the list.
