Chris Sutton 'worried' about Livingston as Celtic hero fears pitch factor and David Martindale effect

Worried Chris Sutton reckons Livingston pose a major threat to Celtic's title charge this weekend.

The Hoops travel to West Lothian on Sunday looking to either re-establish or extend their four-point lead at the top depending on how Rangers fare 24 hours earlier. They're up against a team who boast the Premiership's third-best defensive record and who took points off their rivals just a week ago.

Ange Postecoglou was in confident mood before the game insisting his side won't change their approach but Sutton reckons it will be far from easy on Livingston's plastic pitch. He also thinks Martindale's "super effective" team are well capable of picking up a result that would slow the Hoops' title charge in its tracks.

He told BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra: "I can't stand the pitch at Livingston. If you're Celtic, they do play watchable football. Knock the ball around nicely, go forward, get bodies forward and get runners in the box. But this is one where they've just got to win the game and move on. I think it's a really difficult game.

"David Martindale's done a brilliant job at Livingston. They're super effective at what they do. If Celtic can come away with three points that would be absolutely enormous.

"These games always worry me. I'm not really that fussed about Rangers, but when you go to Kilmarnock or Livi I think they're really difficult fixtures."
