Celtic hero Chris Sutton has taken aim at "thin-skinned" Michael Beale amid the ongoing war of words with the Rangers boss.
And while Beale thinks Sutton is Chelsea's worst ever player, the Parkhead hero reckons he's MORE popular in West London than Beale is. Beale refused to name the former Parkhead striker when he described Record Sport columnist Sutton as a “comedy act” and the “worst ever player” to turn out for his boyhood heroes Chelsea. The Rangers boss was responding to comments made by Sutton on the BBC as he posed the question of whether Beale would have gifted Celtic a goal if Malik Tillman had netted a controversial strike after the show of sportsmanship against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup.
Celtic favourite Sutton has already responded to Beale's comments, with a veiled reference on Twitter to failed Ibrox boss Pedro Caixinha, but couldn't resist another dig on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra alongside Rangers legend Ally McCoist. Sutton was put on the spot about the feud by host Darrell Currie and was quick off the mark with a response.
Sutton said: "What is Mick Beale getting his knickers in a twist about? He's so thin-skinned isn't he? What have I said which was wrong?
"All I did was, on BBC radio, I asked Mark Chapman if he'd have done the same against Celtic. Mick got personal! He started talking about my playing career.
"I can't possibly comment on his playing career for obvious reasons. He started talking about comedy acts... the way he left QPR under a cloud was a comedy act. I'd go as far as to say that I'm more popular in West London than Mick Beale is!"
