Chris Sutton has called on West Ham United’s underperforming players to start performing for David Moyes against Everton this Saturday to avoid Moyes getting sacked.
The Scot is clinging to his job at the London Stadium after a disappointing season domestically. West Ham are into the last 16 of the Europa Conference League, but their woeful form in the Premier League has led to Moyes being at risk of facing the sack.
The Hammers dropped into the bottom three at the weekend after a 1-0 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers and a relegation six-pointer versus Everton at home could be decisive on Moyes’ future, which is currently being assessed on a game-by-game basis.

After two seasons of overachieving with back-to-back top seven finishes, and a run to the Europa League semi-finals last term, West Ham have fallen drastically in the opposite direction and are massively underachieving, considering the £160million they spent in summer transfers.
Just one point from their last seven games has led to calls for a change in manager, but former Chelsea and Celtic striker Sutton believes it is up to the players on the pitch to save Moyes from facing the chop. Sutton says the Hammers are better than the relegation scrap they currently find themselves in and has called on those underperforming this season to step up against Everton this Saturday.
In his Daily Mail column, Sutton wrote: “Lads, do you want David Moyes sacked? He spent £160m in the summer and that’s become a millstone around his neck.
"Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta, I expect more. Same goes for you, Jarrod Bowen. Moyes needs you all to perform, more than ever. You have exceeded expectations in the last two years but you are better than 18th.
“Declan Rice, Michail Antonio, Aaron Cresswell, Angelo Ogbonna — you were there in March 2018 when Burnley won 3-0 and the London Stadium pitch was invaded by fans. We don’t want to see that again.
"It’s Everton at home on Saturday. Go out there and for the love of God, perform.”
