Chris Sutton has revealed that he and Ally McCoist rejected the chance to be filmed during last season's Viaplay Cup final.
Celtic defeated Rangers 2-1 on a cold afternoon back in February, as Ange Postecoglou's men took the first step towards their domestic treble.
The former strikers of either team were on co-commentary duty for the powderkeg derby clash.
Viaplay producers thought it would be entertaining to film the reactions of Sutton and McCoist during the match, much like Sky Sports have done in the past with Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher during Manchester United versus Liverpool matches.
However, the pair declined the offer - and Sutton has explained the reasoning why.
He told the Mail Online's It's Coming Up podcast: "I was actually asked if I could be filmed for the Scottish League Cup final, alongside Ally McCoist and we both said we would feel uncomfortable doing that.
"My role as a summariser is to go in and see the game as I see it and give an honest view. I do not celebrate.
"I was at Ibrox at the weekend, I do not celebrate when Celtic score. I have never celebrated when Celtic score when I'm in a commentary box. I don't think that's the right thing for me to do.
"As a summariser, you're there to work for your paymasters and to give a balanced view. And that's the way I see it. And I think it does become about, you know, the camera and the commentary box.
"Some people may think that's okay. I feel slightly uncomfortable doing that.
"And I suppose the reason, one of the reasons I would feel uncomfortable doing that is because I have an affiliation with Celtic.
"I mean, this can flip the other way. There may be Celtic fans who think, well, if I'm sitting in a commentary box and a camera's on me and somebody scores in the Scottish Cup final, the fact I don't celebrate, that I don't like the club if you get mad.
"It all becomes fan TV like and for clicks, I understand why broadcasters do it. But that's not the role I'm there for as far as I can see."
