Chris Sutton in Rangers 'Glasgow derby' troll as he goads Ally McCoist over Celtic and Europa League trade off

Smirking Chris Sutton couldn't resist the chance to win up Ally McCoist over the Old Firm derby name debate.

The rivalry in Glasgow will be renewed on Sunday with Ange Postecoglou's side on the brink of lifting the Premiership as they face champions Rangers.

Everything is up for debate in the build up to the game - including the name of the clash.

While the game is traditionally knows as the Old Firm derby, some Celtic fans have taken to calling the showdown the Glasgow derby in recent years.

That debate was reignited on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra between Sutton and McCoist.

The pundits were having a back on forth on if Rangers should focus on Sunday's game or their upcoming Europa League second leg against RB Leipzig.

When asked by host Darrell Currie, Sutton interjected: "How are you going to approach the game? Is that a serious question?"

McCoist responded: "I understand the question.

"Clearly, the implication within the question is do you prioritise the semi-final second leg. The answer is yes, as much as you can. But, we all know the importance of a Rangers and Celtic games.

"It's safe to say Celtic are miles favourites and it would take a monumental collapse to not win the league this year, with that in mind you have to prioritise Thursday's night game."

The Old Firm debate then kicked off as McCoist added: "Coming from a chap that knows the importance of Old Firm games, Old Firm games Chris, I do not want to see any form of weakened team at all."

Sutton cut in: "McCoist giving up? Wow. McCoist chucking the towel in for the Glasgow derby. I mean come on, prioritising? Come on."

McCoist quipped: "If Rangers can get to this final, then it's just another Old Firm game."
