Chris Sutton has doubts over Jota's Celtic return.
The winger is set to secure an emotional move back to Glasgow's east end.
Brendan Rodgers confirmed yesterday that the deal is all but done, with Jota swapping Rennes for Parkhead and Kyogo Furuhashi going the other way.
Sutton has already criticised Celtic for selling a player as key as Furuhashi mid-season, and he has also revealed his doubts over his old club's acquisition of the former Portugal under-21 international: "Jota is fascinating," he said (RecordSport).
"He’s barely played since leaving Celtic. If people expect the same Jota to come back, then great. but I have my doubts.

"How hungry is he? He had that hunger the first time around, but he needs to prove himself again. Three starts for Rennes this term. He’ll need time. And you need guys ready to crack on without a bedding-in period."
While the 25-year-old has struggled with his post-Celtic form at both Al-Ittihad and Rennes, at Parkhead the first time around, he flourished.
Jota made 83 appearances during an initial two-year stint with the Scottish Premiership champions, contributing to 54 goals.
He won five out of six domestic trophies along the way, too, including a treble under previous manager Ange Postecoglou.
This time around, with Brendan Rodgers at the helm, the ex-Benfica man will look to further his legacy at Celtic and earn even more adulation from the club's supporters.
