It appears the Bo Nix era is underway.
The Denver Broncos drafted Nix with the 12th pick in the 2024 NFL draft, and the first-rounder appears to be an investment that could soon pay off.
Nix started his NFL career off with a bang against the Indianapolis Colts. The Oregon product completed 15-of-21 passes for 125 yards while also throwing for a touchdown. He also took no sacks, had 17 yards on the ground on three rushes and finished his evening with a 102.3 passer rating.
Former NFL quarterback turned analyst Chris Simms seems to be impressed with Nix’s game. Simms highlighted how Nix appears to be the quarterback that will maximize the type of offense that Broncos head coach Sean Payton prefers: a wide-open attack that allows him to attack the defense from a short, intermediate and long-range passing game.
“I thought the second-most impressive quarterback performance of the weekend was Bo Nix, a.k.a. Drew Brees Jr.,” Simms said (Caleb Williams impressed Simms the most).
