Chris Rock appears to be benefitting from being slapped across the face by Will Smith, with his ticket sales soaring.
A ticket sales site reported selling more tickets overnight from Sunday to Monday than they had all together in the last month.
And TickPick also said that tickets being sold on the secondary market had jumped up in value by more than 200%, from $46 on March 18 to as much as $341 now.
It's a good turn of events for Chris, who was stunned when actor Will stormed the stage at Sunday night's Oscars and slapped him across the face.
He'd made a joke about actress Jada Pinkett Smith, telling her he couldn't wait to see her in GI Jane 2, referencing how Demi Moore famously shaved her head for the role.
Jada, who has alopecia, appeared to laugh the comment off at first before her face dropped and she rolled her eyes and looked quite offended.
Chris insisted his joke was a "nice one" before Will stormed the stage and slapped him across the face.
He returned to his seat and shouted: "Keep my wife's name out your f**king mouth", repeating himself after Chris tried to defuse the situation.
The incident divided opinion, with some saying Will was in the wrong to resort to violence and others saying he was right to defend his wife's honour.
Either way, Chris is benefitting from what happened by seeing a surge in ticket sales for his upcoming Ego Death World Tour, perhaps from people desperate to see if he'll address the controversial events.
It's his first comedy tour in more than five years and will see him perform in 30 cities around the world.
Meanwhile, Will has issued a full apology to Chris, saying he was "out of line".
He had apologised to the Academy and his fellow nominees when he took to the stage moments after the slap to accept the Best Actor award for his role in King Richard.
But he's since addressed Chris, saying in a statement: "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.
"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.
"I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness."
He added: "I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world.
"I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.
"I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will."
