Chris Pratt has been called out by fans online after he posted a sweet Mother's Day tribute.
The Marvel star, 43, faced backlash after we wished "all the mothers out there" a happy day and paid tribute to his partner Katherine Schwarzenegger, who he said he was "so grateful for."
The Guardians of the Galaxy actor shared an image of of him, his wife Katherine, mother-in-law Maria Shriver and mum Kathy Pratt and captioned the upload: "Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers out there. Especially grateful today for Katherine," he started. "You’re a wonderful partner. You’ve provided me such a blessed life. Our two daughters are so lucky to have you and you’re the best step mama to Jack.
"And to my mom, Kathy, you raised us with such love and light and laughter— so grateful for you today and always. And to Maria, the best Mama G, I’m lucky to have you as a mother-in-law. "
He concluded: "And to all of the other moms in my life, I’m so grateful for all you do- thank you so much. Hope you feel celebrated today."
Fans immediately took to the comments after noticing that Chris had failed to mention the mother of his first son Jack, fellow actor Anna Faris, in his tribute.
One asked: "What about your first wife? She’s being super mom raising your first child."
"Tom Brady managed to thank both of his exes in his Mother’s Day post. But I guess we can’t expect everyone to be perfect," a second wrote, comparing him to recently the divorced NFL star.
A third put: "You have such a big platform… yet you continuously, and blatantly, ignore your previous life. That boy and his mom deserve your love and acknowledgement as much and your current family does. Do better."
Some fans stepped in to defend Chris' message, with one typing back: "All of those people making comments about Chris's ex wife, she never made a father's day post about him after they broke up either.
"Double standards and making him a villain over nothing. If it's your ex partner you shouldn't have to include them in anything unless you see fit. I'd do the same."
A second chimed in: "First being attacked for being a man of the faith, and now for not celebrating his ex? The straws people will grasp just to attack Chris is overwhelmingly sad, go outside and get off of social media please."
