Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry Offered in Potential Bradley Beal Trade, per Report

Heading into the NBA offseason, it appears that Wizards guard Bradley Beal is the star most likely to get traded. Already, trade talks reportedly are heating up as the Heat and Suns are reported to be the two finalists for a possible Beal trade.

Because Beal has a no-trade clause, he maintains veto power over any potential deal. That plus a contract that will pay him over $50 million a year for the next four seasons, means the Wizards may have to take on large contracts of older players if they want to part ways with Beal.

In a potential deal with the Suns, the Wizards would have to decide whether they prefer veteran Chris Paul or center DeAndre Ayton, both of whom are contracted to make over $30 million next year, according to David Aldridge and Josh Robbins of The Athletic. Suns guard Landry Shamet also could be included in a trade.

As for a possible trade with the Heat, Washington has been offered Kyle Lowry and Duncan Robinson, who are combined to make around $47 million next year, to help offset Beal’s contract. Washington may want Tyler Herro, who is making $30 million a year for the next four years, but Miami reportedly prefers to keep him out of the deal.

Any deal for Beal also likely would include draft picks as well.
