Chris Paul Could Join Third Team As Suns, Wizards Hash Out Bradley Beal Trade, per Report

Shortly after reports surfaced that the Wizards and Suns were close to finalizing a deal that will send Bradley Beal to Phoenix and Chris Paul to Washington, it appears that Paul might not stick around in the nation’s capital for long.

According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, the Wizards are expected to send Paul elsewhere in a subsequent trade, with the Clippers mentioned as a possible landing spot for the 12-time All-Star. A return to Los Angeles would reunite Paul with the franchise where he spent six seasons and helped guide the team to the playoffs each year.

The Suns reportedly sent Paul, Landry Shamet, a handful of second-round picks and multiple pick swaps in exchange for Beal, who’s played in only 90 games over the past two seasons. He averaged 23.2 points per game on 50.6% shooting from the field last year, and has made three All-Star teams.

Paul, 38, has two years and $61.6 million remaining on his contract. This past season, injuries limited him to just 59 games and also impacted his productivity as he averaged a career-low 13.9 points per game to go along with 8.9 assists and 4.3 rebounds.
