Chris Paul Addresses Playing With Draymond Green After Previous Run-Ins

The Warriors’ recent acquisition of Chris Paul comes with a unique mixture of intrigue and excitement. Indeed, Paul has butted heads with a number of Golden State players over the years—notably Steph Curry and Draymond Green.

But with the move now a few weeks old, Paul has been nothing but positive and excited about his future with the Warriors. Now, he’s addressing concerns over previous on-court tensions with his new teammates.

As The Athletic’s Anthony Slater revealed, Paul’s most recent comment on teaming up with Green featured a near-perfect response from the 38-year-old guard.

“Draymond is sort of like—I always say when people ask me who’s the one player that I didn’t get to play with that I wish I would have, I always say Kevin Garnett. And it’s because the first three times I ever played against KG, we both got double techs. We were about to fight every time, but it’s because he was like-minded like me. And I think that’s the way with Draymond. I know he competes just like I do. So it’s going to be definitely dope to see us now as teammates,” Paul said.

It’s a telling evaluation by Paul and one that makes sense as well. For good measure, it seems as if he’s getting along just fine with another new teammate, as Paul and Curry were spotted together at the 2023 NBA Summer League.
