Christopher Maloney said it had been an 'emotional day' as he visited his grandmother's grave for the first time in several years.
Patricia O'Brien, died aged 80, in September 2019. She was Chris' number one champion throughout his time on X Factor.
She famously invited X Factor film crews and his then mentor Gary Barlow into her house as part of his homecoming trip in December 2012 and later supported Chris in his showbiz career.

Sadly, Nana Pat died after having an epileptic fit, something she had battled in the last three years of her life. Writing on Twitter at the time, Chris said: "My heart is now officially broken, my beautiful Grandmother passed away this afternoon and my life will never be the same again.
"I will never get over this hurt. RIP Mar until we meet again xx." He added: "Thank you so much to ALL the doctors, nurses and staff @AintreeHospital who did all they could to save my Grandmother, you did an incredible job. My sincere gratitude xx."
Nearly three years on from her death, Chris admitted he hadn't visited Nana Pat's grave as he was unable to accept she had died. In a candid Instagram post, Chris said: "What an extremely emotional day. Plucked up the courage to go to my late grandmother's grave today.
"Not been there since she past away 3 years ago in Sept. But this morning, i finally accepted she gone.
"BUT her spirit, love and guidance is with me constantly every day, It's still broke my heart though. Miss you MAR,. Love you to the moon and back xx. R.I.P."
