Chris Kamara has announced he will be leaving Sky Sports at the end of the season after 24 years working for the broadcasting company.
The 64-year-old has been a favourite of many football fans for his one-liners on air and sense of humour when featuring on Sky's Soccer Saturday programme to bring supporters up to date with the latest scores from across the country.
This news comes after Kamara recently revealed he had developed a speech apraxia disorder, impeding his ability to talk. Sharing the news of his departure on social media, the former professional midfielder said: "After 24 years at Sky Sports we have announced my departure .I have loved every minute & the memories will live with me forever. Working with Jeff & the boys has been Unbelievable! And the special days on Goals on Sunday with Ben Shephard who has become a great pal. I’ve had a blast!"

Sky Sports' director of football Gary Hughes said: “Everyone has a favourite Kammy anecdote or highlight, and the tribute we paid to him on air really shows the special place he has in the hearts of our viewers. We’ve been so lucky to have him, and he will always be part of the Sky Sports football family.”
Kamara becomes the latest high-profile name to leave the Soccer Saturday panel following the exits of Charlie Nicholas, Matt Le Tissier and Phil Thompson in recent times. Main host Jeff Stelling previously announced his intention to leave at the end of the season, but has since reversed this decision.
