Chris Eubank Jr trolls Conor Benn with cake and "60 per cent" message

Chris Eubank Jr has trolled Conor Benn by indulging in a birthday cake with the phrase "60 per cent" written on it after insisting that is all he'll need to beat his rival.

British boxing's most notorious feud between the Eubanks and the Benns will reignite on October 8 at The O2 arena when the two legends' sons meet in a grudge fight that is being marketed as the third Eubank vs Benn bout. In order to make weight, the Brighton native will need to get down to 157lb; a career-low, while his opponent jumps up 10lb, or essentially two weight classes.

And the mind games have already begun, with Eubank Jr declaring that he will only be able to fight at 60 per cent of his capacity due to the cut and subsequent rehydration clause. He has supplemented that idea by publicly engaging in a seemingly poor diet that includes KFC chicken and chocolate birthday cake.

In his latest stunt, he has shared a video to social media showing himself indulging in cake just weeks out from the fight, and the arguably equally exciting pre-event weigh-in. The plate from which he is eating has "60 per cent" written on it, while Eubank Jr repeats that number to the camera between bites.

It comes just days after his father Chris Sr declared he wants him to pull out of the fight due to the severity of the weight cut. Eubank Sr insisted that it is a danger to his son's life to fight anywhere below 160lb, particularly at a weight that he hasn't reached since his teenage years.

Promoters on both sides have insisted that the bout will be going ahead despite the former two-weight world champion's claims. Eubank Jr has fought as high as 168lb, but has recently made the move down to middleweight although 160lb is considered the lowest he should safely reach.

Do you think it's wise for Chris Eubank Jr to be eating cake this close to the weigh-in? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!

During a media call with the Daily Mail Eubank Sr said: “If he doesn’t take my advice then I have to put my foot down. He is coming down 1oz below 160lbs which cannot happen on my watch. This is modern day ‘gladiating’, this is not a plaything for the audience. We have to be strict, otherwise lives are put in danger and my son’s life cannot be put in danger.

"I’ve already lost one, it can’t happen again. If you have a child and someone’s trying to actually take that child away from you, and do something wrong to that child, as a dad you wouldn’t let them. That’s all I’m doing.”

Meanwhile Eubank Jr has insisted that the cut will leave him fighting at 60 per cent, although he believes that is all he will need to get the job done against Benn. Nobody has been able to beat the youngster in his career yet, but he hasn't been tested at world level, or against anyone as big as Eubank Jr.
