Chris Eubank Jr offered alternative $1 million fight if Conor Benn deal collapses

Chris Eubank Jr has been offered a fight by middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade, who believes it would be worth $1 million.

Eubank Jr has not fought since outpointing bitter rival Liam Williams earlier this year, and was previously eyeing a shot at a middleweight world title. Links intensified of a catchweight bout with Benn, with the pair's fathers having fought each other in two battles during their careers.

Reports indicated that the fight is now nearing confirmation but has not yet been announced while the pair decide whether or not to included a rehydration clause. Andrade currently holds the WBO middleweight title and is willing to stake it in a bout he has claimed that he has offered to the Briton. “Chris Eubank, we offered you a lot of money to fight me,” Andrade said during a video on social media.

“Over one million dollars. For me, that’s over one million dollars bro. We’re talking, it’s not for the fans’ sake, bro. It’s for your pocket, for your dad, it’s for your mum, your dad, I don’t know if you got kids. I got kids. I got four kids, bro. You feel me? I do what I do.

"But there’s a whole lot of money on the table for me, you, to fight for the WBO super—and when I say super I don’t mean super middleweight champion. Like, bro, we are stars. You’re a star, I’m a star—I’m a superstar. You’re a star. You got two losses. You’re gonna make a lot of money.

"Let’s put this fight together, bro. You’re talking about somebody (Benn) that’s not even relevant to the situation. Chris Eubank don’t do that. Stop acting like that. Let’s make this money, let’s feed our kids, let’s give boxing fans what they’re looking for. It’s Demetrius Andrade versus Chris Eubank, October, November, by the end of the year. And everybody, we are going to be millionaires. Stay tuned.”

Eubank Jr was initially planning to challenge Kazakh star Gennady Golovkin for his unified crown after he continued his victory streak with victory over Ryota Murata. However a fight did not materialise with Golovkin instead accepting a meeting with bitter rival Canelo Alvarez.

Another huge fight on the table for the British star could be a renewed rivalry with Billy Joe Saunders. Eubank Jr's previous meeting with his rival ended in one of his two career defeats, and he has since vowed to avenge it in the future.

However Saunders has only just returned to training so a fight in the near future is unlikely. It has now been agreed that Eubank Jr will instead fight Benn on October 8 at a catchweight of 156lb providing the rehydration clause is resolved.
