Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Williams clash in heated shopping centre exchange

Chris Eubank Jr and Liam Williams traded verbal jabs in a heated exchange at a Cardiff shopping centre during their open workouts.

The pair will meet in a grudge match on Saturday which promises to be an intriguing middleweight affair.

Eubank Jr and Williams have publicly declared their "hate" for each other vowing to record stoppage victories in Wales.

During Williams' open workout, Eubank Jr walked past the set-up ring in the shopping centre that held the public event.

After nearly walking past, he turned and shouted into the ring at Williams before putting his thumbs down as if to signal that the workout was of poor quality.

The Welshman quickly reacted storming towards the ropes where his opponent was stood, while shouting unpleasantries back at his rival as they were quickly prevented from nearing each other.

Eubank Jr's team quickly escorted him past the ring to prevent any trouble from occurring with the pair coming dangerously close to coming to blows.

Both men believe a victory in this fight will assert their status in the division and move them a vital step closer to world glory.

Gennady Golovkin could be a potential opponent for the winner of the bout with Eubank Jr keen to reignite talks after failing to meet the Kazakh star in previous attempts.

However he is currently focused on the task at hand and believes Williams should be "pushed" from the sport.

"Am I the bad guy? I don't know if I like that title," Eubank Jr said. "We are in his back garden. But we are feeling strong and fit. I am very motivated.

Who will win the middleweight clash - Chris Eubank Jr or Liam Williams? Let us know in the comments section below

"I am a stand-up guy and a standard-bearer for the sport, someone that kids can look up to and say: 'I want to be like him'. Their parents want them to be like me.

"Williams is a bad representative of the sport. The way he talks, the way he holds himself. He needs to be pushed out of boxing.

"He's in for a serious and rude awakening. Anywhere the fight goes, he'll be out of his depth. A fight, a boxing match, chess, a punch-up. I'll be on him all night until he quits."

Williams is entering the ring on the back of an agonising defeat to Demetrius Andrade in his recent title charge where he gave a great account of himself on American soil.

He had frequently tormented his rival on social media before the fight was confirmed and is very confident that he can deliver a positive result in front of home support.

“It’s obviously gonna be a great match-up, it’s gonna be full of action," Williams told talkSPORT. The place is sold out already, so I don’t need to sell the fight.

“The dislike between myself and Chris is real. I don’t say I hate many people, but I do hate him. I can’t stand the guy.”
