Two months on from her death, the family of Hannah Price - stepdaughter of musician Chris Daughtry - have confirmed the cause of her death.
Speaking via a statement, the Daughtry family explained how Hannah, 25, died by suicide while under the influence of narcotics on November 12 at her home in Fentress County, Tennessee.
The grieving family also heartbreakingly revealed how prior to Hannah's tragic death, they had plans in place to assist her in seeking further treatment and move home closer to her loved ones.
Singer Chris - who married Hannah's mother Deanna Daughtry in 2000 - has said previously how he is "absolutely devastated and heartbroken" by the loss of his "precious" stepdaughter.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Hannah's family addressed the speculation surrounding their daughter's death, and opened up about her battle with mental health issues.
"Our beloved Daughter Hannah Price passed away on November 12th, 2021," the statement begins.
"Much speculation has been made since that date, and after a full investigation by law enforcement we are now able to speak in further detail."
The grieving family then go on to explain how Hannah had been "in and out of therapy and treatment centres" over the years struggled with drugs and abusive relationships.
They continued: "Just months after losing her biological father to suicide, Hannah was the victim of a crime and was shot in the face. We did everything we could to support her and get her the help she needed to recover from these tragedies and get her life back on track.
"We had just recently made plans with Hannah for her to seek further treatment and move closer to the family."
Hannah was found dead by hanging on November 12 2020 by her boyfriend, who altered the authorities.
Prior to the body being discovered, Hannah had worried family members by saying she was "in fear for her life" on the morning of her death.
The family said they immediately called the Fentress County Police Department to carry out a wellness check, which they did, and Hannah confirmed she was "OK" just before 1pm on the day of her death.
According to the family statement, an investigation by Fentress County DA, Fentress County Sheriff Office and the Knoxville Medical Examiners Office determined Hannah's official cause of death with no evidence of foul play.
"Hannah was a generous and loving person who wanted more for herself and others. She will forever be in the hearts and minds of those of us who love her," her heartbroken loved ones added within their statement.
They also urged anyone "experiencing mental health, abuse, or addiction problems" to seek help from a trained professional.
Former American Idol contestant Chris, 42, was on tour when he discovered his "precious" stepdaughter had passed away and subsequently postponed a series of concert dates.
The devastating news came just a week after the singer lost his mother to cancer.
Hannah is survived by her mother Deanna and her younger sibling Rosa, 23. Chris and Deanna also share twins Adalynn Rose and Noah James, 11, and raise Liam, 7.
