Chris Broussard has wild reason for saying Bengals will miss playoffs

The Cincinnati Bengals will miss the playoffs next season while teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers take the spots, at least in the mind of one NFL analyst.

Some of it, too, apparently comes down to the recent fights at Bengals training camp.

Appearing on “First Things First,” Chris Broussard projected the Steelers to make the playoffs, pointing out Pittsburgh’s recent playoff appearances without good quarterback play. He thinks that the position is much better this year, given the competition between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

But Broussard also tacked this on about the Bengals when explaining his playoff picks: “I don’t like the vibes coming out of Cincinnati.”

Broussard actually has the AFC North as a whole getting dethroned slightly, too, with the AFC East sending the Bills, Jets and Dolphins to the playoffs. His other postseason teams are the Texans, Chiefs, Ravens and those Steelers.

The problem with picking the Bengals to miss the payoffs, though, is those fights could be a good thing. And there haven’t been any concerns about Joe Burrow’s arm or major injuries. One could also point out that last year, the Bengals played one of the league’s toughest schedules, Burrow was really only healthy for roughly two games and the team still won nine games — and gets to play a softer schedule this year as a result.
