Cho Gue sung to Celtic crucial transfer advantage emerges as signing race 'narrows down' to 2 clubs

Celtic transfer target Cho Gue-sung reportedly wants a move to a club who will be in next season's Champions League as he narrows his search for a move to European football.

The South Korean World Cup star has been strongly linked with a move to the Scottish Premiership champions after impressing in Qatar, but the Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors striker looks to have a number of clubs chasing his signature next month after his performances in the Middle East while also sitting at the K-League's top scorer. However, Ange Postecoglou's side could have an advantage of their rivals who are pushing for a deal.

Korean outlet Sport Time report that offers being handed to the forward are "skyrocketing" but claim Celtic and Fenerbahce are the main focus for the star going into the winter window. The report claims the "next destination will come out of these two teams" as he "wants to play for a team with enough merit to reach the Champions League."

The Hoops ended a five year absence from the group stage of Europe's elite competition this season by becoming Scottish champions last term. The current Premiership leaders are on course for their second consecutive title crown which would secure automatic entry to the Champions League group stage next term.

Fenerbahce currently sit at the top of the Turkish league with a narrow two point lead over Galatasaray. The Turkish league winners have to navigate the playoff rounds to reach the group stage.
