Chloe Madeley has said her formy rugby union star husband James Haskell is furious she hasn’t taken his name.
Madeley, who is the daughter of presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, wed Haskell, 38, in December 2018.
They welcomed their first child, daughter Bodhi, last year. But while the child is a Haskell, Madeley, 36, has kept her family name.
Speaking ahead of the release of her first reality TV show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair, she said: “I never changed my name and I always said when I have to renew my passport, get new bank cards, I’ll do it all then.
“But I’m not going through all the admin and hoopla before I absolutely have to and James is furious about it because he’s really traditional.
“So if we start calling him a Madeley oh my God, there will be hell to pay."
She added: “I think I think it will happen, but also I’m not in any mad rush. I’m going to have to change over all my legal documents at some point.
“But yeah, I think for James, he very much wants to feel like I’ve taken on his name. Obviously, Boadhi is a Haskell.
“He wants to feel like I’ve taken on his name and I’m proud of it and I wear it like a badge of honour,” she continued. “There’s also like an element of sadness to it because I’ve always been a Madeley....”
The upcoming ITV X series will showcase the family dynamic as Madeley’s sports star husband forges a new career as a DJ.
In the four hour-long instalments, they will be seen going on days out and family holidays as Chloe enters the first months of motherhood.
ITV said it will follow her “navigating complex family dynamics, a busy career and motherhood” as well as featuring her TV royalty parents as “doting grandparents”.
