Chipotle worker sacked after viral video showed her hurling scissors at complaining customer

Chipotle has reportedly fired a member of its staff after she lost her temper in a big, and alarming, way.

Customer Antony Evans was at his local Baltimore branch of the popular Mexican fast food chain when the confrontation took place.

In a video of the incident, which has now gone viral online, he can be heard having a heated argument with the worker – who claims to be the restaurant’s manager – apparently over a delay to his order.

Posting the clip on Facebook, Evans wrote: “Don’t complain about your order if you go to the Chipotle on North Charles. I waited for my order 20 minutes in an empty restaurant.

“When I ask for it the second time, she started clapping her hands in my face, and hit me with scissors.”

The mobile phone recording begins with Evans complaining to the woman behind the counter: “You messed up my order, and then I come and I complain, and you just get ignorant and start clapping your hands.”

She can be heard fuming back at him (though it’s hard to make out what she’s saying), even pulling out her own phone to film in apparent retaliation, before storming off into another room.

Describing the whole scene as “crazy”, Evans then announces that he’s going to “sit here and eat my f***ing food” as her furious yells continue to echo across the room.

Confirming that he’ll be sharing his video of the encounter on social media, he then asks two other employees repeatedly: “Is she the manager?”

She then reemerges and shouts back: “Yes, I’m the manager. You can call whoever you want to, b****.”

She then grabs a pair of scissors from the counter and hurls them at him.

“Now I’m calling the police,” he retorts. “That’s exactly who I’m calling now.” He later claimed that the shock missile hit him in the left shoulder.

The clip racked up 1,500 likes and 2,300 comments on Facebook in a week and, as promised, Evans did share it with the cops.

Baltimore City Police have confirmed an ongoing investigation into the incident, Fox 45 News reports.

Meanwhile, the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Chipotle, Laurie Schalow, said that they had sacked the offending worker.

She told the local news site: “At Chipotle, the health and safety of our guests is our greatest priority. We have spoken directly to the guest regarding this matter, and have terminated the employee in question.”
