A man who works in a chip shop reveals he gets swamped by female admirers everywhere he goes - who believe he is Ed Sheeran. Chris Marks-Burton, 26, said despite being tone-deaf, his ginger locks and beard means he gets daily comparisons to the 31-year-old singer.
The doppelganger, who is head fryer at a seaside chippy, said he was mobbed when he went to one of Ed's concerts in Wembley and is always posing for pictures. And he admitted his resemblance and shared sense of style has even helped him to score points and win many female admirers over the years.
Although he is now in a relationship, he said he used to enjoy flirting on nights out with 'adoring fans.' He said: "Girls used to come up to me on nights out and say that I look like Ed Sheeran.
"I would say 'yeah, you can come back to my Lego House any time.'" Now living with his girlfriend Daisy, 24, in Hunstanton, Norfolk - next to Ed's home county of Suffolk - Chris added: "My missus' mum says I'm a better-looking version of him."
Chris also told how he was swamped by Ed Sheeran fangirls who pecked his cheeks when he went to the singer's concert at Wembley in 2018. He said: "I was with my missus and had girls kissing my cheeks.
"People surrounded me and tried to take pictures of me. If I had a pound a picture I would have taken home a couple of grand easily."
Working as a head fryer for three years at the same fish and chip shop, Chris' likeness to Ed has also seen him become a customer favourite. Chris said: "The customers say 'it's Ed Sheeran cooking our food'.
"We get a lot of customers coming in for a picture. I go around the front and all the customers just love it. I'm quite a chatty person so I like talking to them.
"It's quite funny really when it happens." Chris, who - at 6ft1 - is taller than Ed at 5ft8 - has only seen the singer once in concert and said that his favourite tracks are The City and A-Team.
He noted how the pair have a shared love of Heinz Ketchup - of which Ed is a self-confessed superfan. And Chris added: "I play a little bit of guitar too, but if I sing I'll break glass."
