On Saturday, a Chinese influencer who was 21 years old and had made a serious effort to shed 90 KGs passed away while attending a weight loss camp. After spending nine months at weight loss camps in China's northwest Shaanxi province, she lost her life. The girl named Cuihua passed away while urging her followers to fight obesity.
The fitness-focused closed camp format was chosen by the influencer Cuihua, whose name roughly translates to "jade green blossom," according to Shanghai Morning News. She recently revealed in a video that she weighed 156 kg and wanted to shed 90 kilograms.
Cuihua would exercise hard at the camp in Shaanxi province and adhere to a rigorous diet to help her lose weight. According to the reports, she would workout in front of admirers in the nights while running her live feeds. Cuihua had been posting daily updates from the camps to her 9,000 followers on social media since 2022.
In her most recent videos, she engaged in intense cardio work as well as battle rope and weight lifting strength training workouts. She also followed a strict diet that comprised fruits, vegetables, eggs, cabbage, and coarse grains.
According to reports, Cuihua shed 40 kg in part as a result of eating a few meals. But because she was forced to livestream again at night after her workout throughout the day, she occasionally had to exercise for twice as long. Cuihua seemed disturbed in a number of her videos. Many believe overexertion has been a cause of Cuihua’s untimely death. As per reports, she has been working out way more and on an empty stomach. However, the reason for her death hasn’t been revealed by the parents.
Obesity has been a major issue in China in recent years. Thousands of weight loss camps have popped up all over China as a solution to the issue. However, the fad has generated a lot of discussion on social media, notably around safety issues.
