Tarn Taran: In a joint operation, troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab police recovered a China-made drone along with 210 grams of heroin">heroin from a village in Tarn Taran district, officials said on Wednesday.
According to officials, BSF troops and Punjab Police on Tuesday (May 7) received information regarding presence of a drone in the border area.
Upon getting the information, the BSF troops rushed to the area and carried out an extensive search operation in collaboration with the Punjab Police.
During a search operation at 7:30 pm on the same day, the troops successfully recovered 1 drone in damaged condition along with 1 packet (Gross weight- 210 grams) of suspected heroin">heroin.
The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a loop was made on the packet. This recovery took place in a farming field near Village- T J Singh, in district Tarn Taran, officials said.
The prompt sharing of information by a law-abiding villager and coordinated efforts of BSF and Punjab Police foiled yet another nefarious attempt of smuggling narcotics by an illicit Pakistani drone from across the border, they added. (ANI)
