China's Liu Yukun Wins Olympic Gold In Men's 50M Rifle

Olympic gold medalist skier Vonn interview in New York

Chinese shooter Liu Yukun added another feather to his cap by clinching the Olympic gold in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions event on Thursday. Liu showcased his exceptional skills throughout the competition, finishing with a total score of 463.6 after the eight stages of shooting, which included kneeling, prone, and standing positions.

Liu's impressive performance saw him outshine his competitors, with Serhiy Kulish securing the second spot with a total score of 461.3. Earlier in the day, Liu had set the Olympic qualification record in the same event, highlighting his dominance in the discipline.

This victory at the Olympics adds to Liu's remarkable year, where he previously set a new world record of 468.9 in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions event at the International Shooting Sport Federation Baku World Cup in May. His consistent success and exceptional talent have solidified his reputation as one of the top shooters in the world.

Meanwhile, India's Swapnil Kusale secured the bronze medal in the event, marking India's third medal at the Paris Games. Kusale's achievement adds to India's growing success in shooting sports and further cements the country's position as a powerhouse in the discipline.
