China Condemns Killing Of Aid Workers In Gaza Airstrike

China and Switzerland sign joint statement of free trade agreement, in Kehrsatz near Bern

China has strongly condemned the killing of seven aid workers from the non-profit organization World Central Kitchen in Gaza. The workers were tragically killed in an Israeli airstrike, as confirmed by the charity and authorities in Gaza.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Wang Wenbin, expressed China's opposition to any actions that harm civilians, damage civilian facilities, or violate international law. He emphasized that civilians should not be targeted, and the safety of international humanitarian aid workers must be safeguarded.

Wang Wenbin stated that China was shocked by the attack and called on all parties involved, particularly Israel, to fulfill their obligations under the UN Charter. He urged for an immediate ceasefire and emphasized the importance of protecting civilians, hospitals, and other civilian facilities as outlined in the Geneva Conventions.

The victims of the airstrike included a dual US-Canada national, individuals from Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, and a Palestinian, according to World Central Kitchen.

The Israel Defense Forces have announced that they are conducting a thorough review of the incident.
