China has expressed its expectation for all parties involved in the Ukraine war to come together for peace negotiations. This statement comes as the top diplomats from the United States and Russia held talks in Saudi Arabia with the aim of resolving Moscow's conflict with Ukraine, a process that has excluded Kyiv and its European allies.
A spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, Guo Jiakun, stated during a regular press briefing that China welcomes all efforts dedicated to peace, including the recent consensus on negotiations reached between the US and Russia. Guo emphasized that China anticipates the timely participation of all parties and stakeholders in the negotiation process.
China has positioned itself as a potential peace broker in the conflict, advocating for its own proposal to settle the war. However, China's efforts have been somewhat overshadowed in the West due to its strengthening ties with Moscow.
