Chilling photos inside abandoned mansions for sale in Kyiv as citizens flee warzone

Chilling photos show the mansions for sale in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv as thousands desperately flee the city, and those left behind brace for the oncoming Russian army.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Russian forces launched an invasion of Ukraine in what is thought to be the largest attack on a European state, by a European state since World War II.

In the hours and days since, Ukraine’s cities have been subject to bombardment and missile strikes, with Kyiv at the heart of a number of attacks.

Missile strikes have rained down on the city as many seek refuge in underground bomb shelters.

However, as all this goes on, a number of million pound mansions in the city are up for sale.

Pictures of their decadent inside contrasts sharply to the chaos and warfare that plagues the city now.

The listing on Sothebys ' shows dozens of active listings for massive multi-million-dollar mansions.

One castle-like estate was built only eight years ago, and is on sale for a pinch at $15million.

It has five bedrooms, each resplendent with ensuit bathrooms, and an additional five half-bathrooms.

The mansion, known as the ‘Kyiv Sea Casa’ covers 39,000 square feet and has been called a “masterpiece”.

It also includes a separate guest house, carriage house, a house for the caretaker, and staff quarters, a river dock, high-tech security system and direct elevator access throughout the property.

If that wasn’t enough, it also has a home cinema, media room, both indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor kitchen, saunce, spa, steam room, library, yoga room, play room, massive lawn and a children’s playground.

It is located on the River Dniper in the capital city and comes with enough parking for 15 cars.

Listing notes read: “The property is perfect for spending memorable time with a big family as well as hosting masterpiece events.”

The ‘Kyiv Sea Casa’ comes with several home terraces, gardens and its own courtyard.

Built with marble, concrete and stone flooring, the home features several terraces, gardens and a courtyard.

However, this is far from the only multi-million-pound mansion in Kyiv.

Volodymyrska 49B

Another four-story estate comes in a bit more affordable, on sale for only $9million.

The 10-bed, 10-bath residence is about half the size of the ‘Kyiv Sea Casa’ and covers 14,400 feet.

The listing reads: “The property is considered a historical monument and has a unique and instantly recognizable architecture.”

The home has good links and features several entrances, an expansive balcony and parking for 12 cars, including a security system which may be needed sooner rather than later as Russian troops creep closer to the capital.

Vyshgorod, Modern House

A third Kyiv mansion is for sale as a cut-price $3.65 million, and comes with its own guesthouse.

Six bedrooms and six bathrooms, it is marketed as a “modern house with access to the river Dnipro and a private beach”.

The “eco-friendly” home sits on an acre of land and was renovated in 2009 and includes a separate entrance for staff.

The 2003-built residence is equipped with Italian furniture and has private access to the river, boat pier, beach, summer house and barbecue area.

Other amenities include an indoor pool, spa room, fitness centre, tennis court, gardens and a putting green.

The cheapest of the bunch comes in at a $1.1million newly built cottage house situated on 15 acres of land.

Located in the upscale suburb of Koncha-Zaspa, the eco-friendly home was constructed from massive trunks of specially grown warm pine, the listing says.

Located in the heart of the Pecherskyi District in Kyiv, it comes with similar amenities to the others and also a smart house system and voice controlled blinds.
