Kabuki theatre performances by children have been featured at the Nagahama Hikiyama Festival in western Japan.
The festival is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Children's Kabuki is the highlight of the festival in Nagahama City and is performed on stages built on elaborately decorated floats called hikiyama.
The children said they practiced every day during their spring break from school and many visitors to the event applauded their compelling performance.
