Child taken to hospital after being hit by car in Bishopsworth

A child has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car on a residential street in Bristol. Officers were called to Cutler Road, Bishopsworth, at around 5.45pm following reports of a child on a bicycle being hit by a car.

The road was closed for approximately one hour while police attended the scene. The driver stopped at the scene and officers spoke with them after the incident.

The child's injuries are not believed to be serious at this time.

In a statement to Bristol Live, a spokesperson from Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called to attend Cutler Road in Bristol at around 5.45pm today, after a car was in collision with a child on a bicycle. The child has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be serious.

“The car stopped at the scene and officers spoke with the driver. The road re-opened at just after 7pm.”
