Chiefs’ Xavier Worthy adorably handed the ball to his mom after a Monday Night Football TD

Early in the fourth quarter during Monday night’s game between the Chiefs and Saints, Kansas City extended their lead over the visiting New Orleans squad thanks to a Xavier Worthy touchdown. On the play, which was a clutch answer to the Saints closing within three points, tight end Travis Kelce got the snap and handed it off to Worthy for the three-yard score.

After sprinting into the end zone, Worthy — a rookie from the University of Texas — continued running to the corner of the stadium where he handed the ball to a woman in the stands. That woman was none other than Worthy’s mother, Nicky Jones.

The pair embraced before Worthy returned to the sidelines, but it’s hard to imagine a better birthday for Jones.
