The Kansas City Chiefs enter another battle with the Buffalo Bills with more than just the AFC Championship on the line. The game could be viewed as a changing of the guard if Buffalo can get over the hump and win a postseason matchup in the rivalry.
Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy views the game much differently, as he explained to reporters on Friday during his press conference.
“I take it as a blessing. I feel like it’s a sign that they didn’t want me; I’m going to play with a chip on my shoulder.” said Worthy on being traded during the 2024 NFL Draft. “This game means a little bit more. Obviously, it’s the AFC championship game, but this is a team that traded their pick away to get somebody else.”
Worthy was selected by the Chiefs 28th overall in the draft after a trade with the Bills, who opted to fall back and select Keon Coleman 33rd. The former Texas Longhorns standout was one of the bright parts from the Week 11 meeting in Buffalo, finishing the game with four catches for 61 yards and a touchdown in the 30-21 loss.
