Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy explains his 24-hour rule after an excellent game performance

Xavier Worthy is off to a promising start with the Kansas City Chiefs as he showcased his record-breaking speed in last week’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens.

On Wednesday, the Chiefs rookie wide receiver spoke with reporters about his rule for following a good game, which he carried over from college.

“Oh, man, it’s been cool just to have that do what I did on Thursday, but I have this 24-hour rule for you to do it,” said Worthy. “You live it out, and then you forget about it. It’s on to the next. So, I’m on to the next.”

“I feel like a lot of things that I kind of focused on was understanding the defense, and I feel like I did that.” said Worthy. “So I want to carry that over to this week and every other week. Just understand the defense is knowing what they’re going to do before and pre-snap.”

Worthy’s next-game mindset is another example of the rookie’s poise and mature demeanor after a highlight-making night.

“I feel like just me as a person. Once I have a good game, it’s just that It happened; it’s on to the next,” said Worthy. “And the next game could be bad. So you never know. Just be confident. Just Be humble at the end of the day.”

Worthy’s debut regular season game ended with a 21-yard rushing touchdown, two catches for 47 yards, and a receiving touchdown.
