Last Thursday’s loss to the Detroit Lions was a damper on banner night for the Kansas City Chiefs and an uneasy outlook on the young receivers group put together over the offseason. The wide receiver that struggled the most in Week 1 was Kadarius Toney, returning to the field after missing most of training camp and the preseason from a knee injury.
Toney had an opportunity to address the issues from Week 1 during Wednesday’s press conference and revealed the conversations of encouragement he received from head coach Andy Reid.

Toney also spoke with quarterback Patrick Mahomes as the duo looked to rekindle some of the instant chemistry they had last season before his injury.
“Both (Reid and Mahomes) of those guys, they got trust and faith in me, and I appreciate those guys for that. And like I said, You got to go put the work in, and it ain’t really too much talking to me left.”
Toney is extra motivated to be back on the field and leave his dropped passes in the rearview, as a trip to Jacksonville could be the remedy he needs to get back on track.
