The Kansas City Chiefs have waived another undrafted free agent that was signed following the 2023 NFL draft.
According to the NFL’s personnel notice for Monday, the Chiefs have waived Missouri State WR Tyrone “Ty” Scott. This is the corresponding move to make room for Kansas State CB Ekow Boye-Doe, who was signed after a tryout invite at the team’s rookie minicamp from May 6-8.
The 24-year-old Scott, listed at 6-foot-2 and 199 pounds, was coming off a 2022 campaign at Missouri State where he recorded 48 receptions, 674 receiving yards and five touchdowns. He joined the Bears in 2021 after spending time at Central Michigan.
Scott is now the fourth undrafted free agent the team signed following the 2023 NFL draft to be waived by the team. He joins his Missouri State teammate Montrae Braswell, Tarleton State OL Blake Haynes and Missouri S Martez Manuel, who’ve all been released in the time following rookie minicamp.
This transaction now brings the roster back to 90 players. If the Chiefs want to make any other signings ahead of OTAs next week, they’ll need to make a corresponding roster move to create room on the 90-man offseason roster.
