Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce had to resort to trickery against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5 to help the defending Super Bowl champions convert a long first down in the second quarter.
Backed up because of a failed trick play and penalty, Kansas City faced a 3rd and 22 on New Orleans’ 44-yard line.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes hit Kelce with an accurate pass over the middle, and when the star tight end saw veteran running back Samaje Perine open for a lateral, he pitched the ball to the former Cincinnati Bengal to get Kansas City close to the first down marker.

The Chiefs are set to receive the second-half kickoff, and will look to build on their early lead over the Saints during the third and fourth quarters on “Monday Night Football.”
