The Kansas City Chiefs are looking to earn their first preseason win on Thursday against the Chicago Bears, and while starters on both teams rest, second and third-string players have an opportunity to showcase their talents.
Players like wide receiver Justyn Ross and quarterback Chris Oladokun have been stellar in their first two preseason outings, but former UCLA running back Carson Steele proved to be Kansas City’s top offensive weapon against Chicago.
Before scoring a touchdown in the Chiefs’ preseason finale, Steele rumbled for a big gain on this impressive run, which was featured by the NFL’s official Twitter account:

Though Isiah Pacheco is still expected to fill the top spot on Kansas City’s depth chart at running back, the battle to be his backup seems to be Steele’s to lose.
If the rookie continues performing at such a high level, it isn’t out of the question that he could develop into a key part of the Chiefs’ offense during the regular season.
