Rookie running back Carson Steele emerged as the Kansas City Chiefs’ top offensive weapon in their preseason finale against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night.
After two outstanding performances in Kansas City’s previous preseason exhibitions, Steele’s stock went through the roof when he scored a touchdown against Chicago.
Steele’s outstanding score impressed fans in attendance for the game at Arrowhead Stadium, but it was the reaction of reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes that stole the show on the Chiefs’ sideline.

Though the rookie will still have to fight for a spot on Kansas City’s 53-man roster, his exceptional efforts in the preseason have made him a fan favorite and should prove to be enough to tip the scale in his favor when Andy Reid and Brett Veach make cuts next week.
