Chiefs top Texans, gain seventh straight AFC Championship Game

You can’t beat yourself when playing the Kansas City Chiefs. They will beat you if you give them a sliver. The Houston Texans provided all sorts of help on Saturday at Arrowhead as the Chiefs won a Divisional round game 23-14 over the AFC South champs.

The Chiefs will host the AFC Championship Game on Jan. 27 at Arrowhead against the winner of Sunday’s Baltimore Ravens-Buffalo Bills game.

The Chiefs are looking for a third straight Super Bowl, something no team has done.

Ka’imi Fairbairn missed a field goal, and an extra point, had a field goal attempt blocked, and had the opening kickoff returned 63 yards leading to a Chiefs field goal.

C.J. Stroud was sacked eight times, three by George Karlaftis.

KC, once an offensive juggernaut, now relies on a stellar defense and an offense that does enough to win.

The Patriots went to eight straight AFC Championship games, so the Chiefs are one short on that.

On offense, it was Travis Kelce being Travis Kelce. With girlfrield Taylor Swift and WNBA star Caitlin Clark watching, Kelce had seven catches on eight targets for 117 yards and a touchdown.
