Chiefs to play Raiders on Christmas Day

The Kansas City Chiefs are playing on Christmas Day once again.

On Monday, December 25, the Chiefs will host the Las Vegas Raiders at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium at Noon CT. The game will be simulcast on CBS and Nickelodeon.

In 2004, Kansas City made its Christmas Day debut in the regular season against the then-Oakland Raiders, winning the game 31-30. The last time the Chiefs played on Christmas Day was in 2016 against the Denver Broncos — when Dontari Poe threw a touchdown pass to Demetrius Harris in a 33-10 blowout win for Kansas City.

There was also the 1971 divisional playoffs, where the Chiefs played the Dolphins in what was the NFL’s longest game (82 minutes and 40 seconds).

This upcoming matchup with the Raiders is the Chiefs’ Week 16 game, which means they’ll play their Week 17 New Year’s Eve game against the Cincinnati Bengals on short rest.

Reminder, the full NFL schedule reveal is coming tonight at 7:00 p.m. CT.
