Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce will be teaming with his quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, on the golf course when they participate in “The Match” charity golf challenge. They will be up against Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors at the Wynn Las Vegas for a 6:30 p.m. start on June 29 on TNT.
Kelce shared his thoughts on the Chiefs being a dynasty after three Super Bowl appearances in four years, and the prospect of Mahomes winning more titles in his career, while recently appearing on FanDuel TV’s “Run It Back” show.
“Kansas City has been a dynasty for quite a while, for quite a while now,” said Kelce. “And obviously, I’m biased to that. But I think that what Coach (Andy) Reid has done since he’s been here in terms of winning in terms of the playoff runs and all the division championships and the AFC title appearances, then obviously, the Super Bowls were 100% a dynasty, but when you put it up against what the Warriors have done, obviously we don’t have as many championships right now. So we got some work to do. We’re on. We’re on an uphill battle, especially when you talk about what the Warriors have been able to do. Unfortunately, I’ve seen quite a few daggers from the Golden State Warriors to being a (Cleveland) Cavs fan throughout my day. But, um, yeah, Cavs in seven anyways.”
“I think Pat Mahomes is definitely gonna find a way to get more than 4 championships” 🏆@tkelce says him and @PatrickMahomes will have more championships than @StephenCurry30 & @KlayThompson#RunItBack with @ShamsCharania @MichelleDBeadle @ChandlerParsons & @bansky pic.twitter.com/RoBmhRXENH

The Warriors matched up against the Cavaliers in four straight NBA Finals from 2015 to 2018, with Cleveland winning once — erasing a 3-1 deficit in 2015-16. Kelce took time to single out his teammate’s bright future as a champion even if he’s no longer a member of the Chiefs.
“I think at the end of the day,” said Kelce, “Patty Mahomes finds a way to overtake … what is it? They got four championships? Yeah. So I think Pat Mahomes is definitely going to find a way to get more than four championships. Hopefully, I’m still along for the ride. By the time he gets there.”
Co-host Chandler Parsons questioned Kelce’s golf game and his chances against the All-Star backcourt, and the Chiefs star didn’t disappoint with his response.
“Me and my guy Pat Mahomes have never lost in Vegas, and that’s that even dates back to a golf tournament where I met Chan (Chandler Parsons); I tell you what, Pat’s going to have to save me on a few shots, but there are going to be some shots that I get close and I come through and hold my own weight.” said Kelce, “I’m interested to see what the dynamic is. You know? I usually get a little competitive and start talking smack and everything like that, and I don’t know if the Baby-Faced Assassin (Curry) and Klay Thompson like to yap for a little bit. Well, I think Klay gets after it a little bit. But we’ll find out.”

Mahomes and Kelce were victorious last year in the inaugural “8AM Golf Invitational” hosted by Justin Timberlake and Wynn Las Vegas. We will see if the good vibes will continue on the same course for this month’s event.
