Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is expected to play Thursday night vs. the Broncos despite being limited in practice throughout the week, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
Kelce injured his right ankle in the second quarter on Sunday vs. the Vikings, but after a brief time out of the game, he returned to action in the second half. The tight end finished the game with 10 catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Although Kelce will play, he is expected to have his sprained right ankle heavily taped during the game, Schefter reports.
During Week 1, Kelce missed a game due to injury for the first time in his career while dealing with an ailing knee, but he made his season debut the following week. The Chiefs are 4-0 with Kelce in the lineup this season, and he’s recorded 222 receiving yards and three touchdown catches in those four games.
Kansas City plays host to Denver on Thursday night seeking a fifth straight win. The Broncos haven’t beaten the Chiefs since 2015, a winning streak of 15 consecutive games for Kansas City.
