Chiefs stock watch: Which players impressed during Week 3 vs. Bears

The Kansas City Chiefs handled business at home in Week 3 after defeating the Chicago Bears.

The Chiefs offense didn’t hold back with their aggressive mindset against the Bears team dealing with issues on and off the field. The spotlight was on All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce because of a very notable appearance of his special guest, Taylor Swift. The running backs, led by Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon, were threats in the red zone, collecting touchdowns in the passing game and on the ground.

The defense has done more than earn respect around the league as they terrorized Bears quarterback Justin Fields all day. All-Pro Chris Jones added another sack, Mike Edwards, with an interception and a forced fumble from Trent McDuffie.

The Chiefs showed dominance, silencing critics worried about their issues on offense to start the season and treating an embattled Bears squad as the launching pad.

Here’s a look at how the stock is trending for some players after the Week 3 victory at Arrowhead Stadium:

Stock Up: Travis Kelce

The spotlight was on Kelce a little more than usual this week as his special guest, Taylor Swift, was in attendance sitting in a suite next to his mother Donna enjoying the Chiefs’ dominant victory. Kelce finished with seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown inciting celebrations from that particular suite and the thousands at Arrowhead Stadium.

Stock Up: Patrick Mahomes

Outside of an ankle tweak before halftime, Mahomes was flawless in his execution, getting everything he wanted against the Bears’ defense. The reigning league MVP finished with 272 yards and three touchdown passes as he reached another career milestone, becoming the fastest to 25,000 career passing yards.

Stock Up: Jerick McKinnon

After not showing much production in the first two games this season, McKinnon erupted on Sunday for two touchdown receptions in the first half. He ended the day with three catches overall but reignited the chemistry he developed with Mahomes last season.

The angry running style of Pacheco was on display in Sunday’s victory as he helped balance the offensive attack, confusing the Chicago defense. Pacheco led the team in rushing with 15 carries for 62 yards and a touchdown without playing much in the second half due to the significant lead.

Stock Up: Chris Jones

There is no training camp, no preseason, and still not much of a problem for Jones as he continues to dominate on the defensive line. The veteran defensive star collected another sack on Sunday while helping lead the charge in pressuring Justin Fields into a rough game.
