The Kansas City Chiefs drafted plenty of slot receivers in recent years, but the team needs to add some size to its wide receiver room. The 2025 NFL draft primarily features slot options toward the back of the top 100 selections, but a handful of Day 3 prospects possess the height and weight combinations to add another dimension to Kansas City’s offense.
Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy lists Virginia Tech Hokies wideout Da’Quan Felton as standing 6’4 1/4″ and weighing 216 lbs with 33-inch arms. Despite his size, Felton quickly eats the cornerback’s cushion in off-man and threatens defenses vertically. His speed helps him stack cornerbacks out of press coverage. Felton’s speed popped more often in 2023 than in 2024, but Virginia Tech’s offense deserves plenty of blame for that decline.
Felton’s frame presents a large target for press corners. He needs to diversify his release package but already uses swipes to clear the corner’s hands before accelerating vertically. Felton identifies and sits in holes in zone coverage at the short and intermediate levels. He works back to the football to prevent defenders from undercutting the throw.

Felton isn’t twitchy and doesn’t break many tackle attempts. However, his acceleration and top speed challenge pursuit angles when he catches the ball in stride on slants and crossing routes. Felton’s size makes him an effective stalk blocker to contribute in the run game or on wide receiver screens.
Felton’s lack of dynamic athleticism and inconsistent ability to separate on complex routes limit his ceiling as a prospect. The Chiefs could begin thinking about calling his name in the draft’s middle rounds.
